How to Suppress a TruthFinder Report

TruthFinder uses PeopleConnect's free Suppression Center. Build and verify your identity, find the matching Background Report, set it to Suppressed, and save the setting.

Last verified: August 10, 2026Status: Official family-wide suppression tool

What to have ready

  • An email address you control. PeopleConnect sends a link before you can continue.
  • Your date of birth and current legal name. Former or informal names can be added when relevant.
  • Access to at least one email address or phone number shown in a matching report. A verified email or phone is normally required to treat a result as a verified match.

Steps

  1. Open the PeopleConnect Suppression Center and enter your email address.
  2. Accept the tool's terms, then open the verification email and use its link to continue.
  3. Enter your date of birth and legal name. Add former or informal names if they are needed to find the correct report.
  4. Review the matching records carefully. Verify an email address or phone number that belongs to you when the tool requests it.
  5. Open Suppression Settings, set the matching Background Report to Suppressed, and select Save.

Verify the result and follow up

  • Return to Suppression Settings while signed in and confirm the report still shows Suppressed.
  • Search TruthFinder by name again. Allow for normal system updates, and do not assume an unrelated phone, address, or email lookup is covered.
  • If a matching report cannot be verified or remains displayed, contact privacy@peopleconnect.us and include enough detail for the support team to identify the report.

What this request does not do

  • PeopleConnect says this setting covers name-search Background Reports on TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, Intelius, and US Search.
  • It does not cover PeopleConnect user-account data, Classmates.com, outside websites, or the original public sources.
  • PeopleConnect warns that a name or other information may still appear in phone, address, or email searches, or on registered-sex-offender lists.
  • Do not delete your Suppression Center user data if you want the suppression retained. The Privacy Center says deleting that user data also deletes associated suppressions.

Official sources reviewed

We use first-party action pages, policies, and support instructions. A verification date means we reviewed the public procedure and destination on that date. It does not mean we submitted a request using a reader's identity. Read the methodology and correction policy.
