How to Use the PeopleConnect Suppression Center

PeopleConnect's free tool lets you build and verify an identity, review matching Background Reports, and set supported reports to Suppressed.

What to have ready

  • An email address you control for the initial sign-in link.
  • Your date of birth, legal name, and any former names needed to identify matching records.
  • Access to a matching email address or phone number for verification. Text-message rates may apply when verifying a phone.

Steps

  1. Enter your email address at the Suppression Center, agree to the terms, and continue.
  2. Open the transactional email from PeopleConnect and use its link to sign in.
  3. Build your identity with your date of birth and legal name. Add previous legal or informal names when relevant.
  4. Review possible reports and verify an email address or phone number that belongs to you.
  5. In Suppression Settings, choose Suppressed for each verified Background Report you control and select Save.

Verify the result and follow up

  • Return to Suppression Settings to make sure each intended report remains Suppressed.
  • Check supported sites by name. Treat phone, email, and address searches as separate because the tool says those may still display information.
  • For an unverified match or information that remains after suppression, contact privacy@peopleconnect.us for assistance.

What this request does not do

  • The tool explicitly names TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, Intelius, and US Search as supported people-search sites.
  • It applies to name-search Background Reports, not all data or every PeopleConnect product. Classmates.com is excluded.
  • Outside websites and underlying public sources are unaffected.
  • Deleting Suppression Center user data also deletes associated suppressions. Keeping the suppression requires PeopleConnect to retain the suppression record.
  • Subtle differences in public records can make it difficult to match and suppress every item associated with a person.
